Cloze Test

Hello Guys, as all of you know that Cloze Test is a most important section of English Language and it comes in almost every Pre or Mains exams of IBPS PO, IBPS CLERK, SBI PO, SBI CLERK, SSC CGL, Insurance etc. In this post, you have given a paragraph based on an Article of  The Hindu. Try this out –
Directions: In the given passage there are blanks, each of which has been numbered. These numbers are printed below the passage and against blank appropriately. Find out the appropriate word in each case.

At the beginning of every semester, the journalism students I teach       (1)      the difficulty in reading long texts and     (2)    on the meaning of the words in front of them. “I get my news from Twitter,” one of them said as if Twitter      (3)     a news source and not a social networking website with aggregating capacities.
news     (4)    on social networks is news often reported by someone somewhere in a newspaper, on a television website, or a blog. Social networks      (5)     the meaning of the news article into 140 characters (now upped to 280),       (6)      little meaning there.
Our constant usage of the Internet    (7)    our reading capacity, it is commonly said. It results in our decreasing    (8)   to concentrate, think and understand things as we were used to. And while the decision-making part of our brain works in    (9)    by clicking, skimming, browsing, liking, sharing, bookmarking, it is true that we are    (10)   faster, but we are not understanding in depth what we chose.
